Product Description The 24" LED Cinema Display doesn't just expand the screen of your new MacBook, MacBook Pro or MacBook Air, it expands your whole experience. With a built-in iSight camera, mic & speaker.
Amazon.com Product Description Designed for the new MacBook family of laptops, the Apple LED Cinema Display features a stunning 24-inch LED-backlit widescreen display with built-in iSight video camera, mic and speakers in an elegant, thin aluminum and glass enclosure. It also includes an integrated MagSafe charger, three USB 2.0 ports and the new Mini DisplayPort, making it easy for MacBook users to quickly connect and power their notebooks as well as use their favorite peripherals.
Expand the screen of your new MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air (notebook not included); see larger version. | The 24-inch glossy, widescreen display with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution uses LED-backlit technology to provide instant full-screen brightness and great power efficiency. LEDs are solid-state light sources that light up very quickly, so there’s no waiting for your display when you connect your new MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air. With the built-in iSight camera, microphone, and speakers, you can connect your new MacBook--leaving it open or closed--and engage in video chats or listen to music just as you would with a desktop computer. The LED Cinema Display includes a MagSafe connector that powers and charges your new MacBook. The connector sits on your desk, ready and waiting--no need to unravel the cord to the power adapter that came with your notebook. On the back of the display, you’ll find three self-powered USB ports that are enabled the moment you plug the USB connector into your new MacBook. Connect a printer, camera, iPod, iPhone, USB hard drive... and they can stay connected so you can just grab your MacBook and go. Tilt the LED Cinema Display to get the viewing angle that’s best for your work environment. With its smooth-motion hinge, adjustment is effortless. Choose an angle anywhere from -5 to 25 degrees. Part of the next-generation DisplayPort industry standard, the new Mini DisplayPort delivers a pure digital signal that can drive up to a 30-inch widescreen display. The Mini DisplayPort is ultra-compact at just 10 percent the size of a full DVI connector, perfect for the sleek design of the new MacBook family. Adapters are available for using the MacBook’s Mini DisplayPort with older generation VGA, DVI/HDMI and Dual-Link DVI displays. The new LED Cinema Display is the greenest Apple display ever, made with mercury-free LED technology, arsenic-free glass and highly recyclable materials. The LED Cinema Display meets stringent Energy Star 4.0 requirements and achieves EPEAT Gold status. The new display contains no brominated flame retardants, all internal cables and components are PVC-free and its foam packaging has been reduced by 44 percent. Excellent Monitor August 22, 2010 Freeman Hwang I got this monitor used to replace my Dell 2001FP. This monitor has very accurate colors (just like the Dell) but the contrast and color saturation is much much better. The one I have is actually a refurbished. I prefer the refurbished b/c it probably has manufactering issues hammered out. Apple is know for their excellent refurbished monitors.
I have had no problems with the monitor but I recommend Applecare for all Apple products. In the even your product fails you will get great service.
Apple Cinema Display 24" Failed 38 days out of warranty August 21, 2010 Ron Paulk (Anacortes, WA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased my Apple Cinema 24" LED July 15, 2009. It has been having display problems for 9 months, but I am busy and the work around was to unplug it and when plugged back in it worked. I though I has a software "Sleep" issue and planned to work on the problem when I had time. Well 3 days ago it stopped working completely. Today I finally had time to call Apple. My display was out of warranty by 38 days. Since I purchased it after I purchased 2 Mac Book Pros they could not include it on my Apple Care Plans. If you Google this monitor, you will find a great many people have this same problem. Apple has some quality control issues with this display, but they will not fix it due to the technicality of being 38 days out of warranty. In the past 24 months I have purchased 2 Mac Book Pros (MAX OUT), Cinema Display, Air Mouse, Key Board, iLife, iWork, 2 iPhone 3Gs, and me Family Plan. I am a home builder and though my warranty is 2 years, I have never turned down fixing a client's problem if it was due to my work or materials even 10 years later. I guess that is what don't have much money in the bank and Apple has Billions. They are smarter than me.
Perfection June 14, 2010 Raymond Brigleb (Portland, OR, United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
There's not anything I could see improving about this. The speakers are great for being completely built in - I wouldn't WANT them any bigger! It's so slim, the color is amazing, and it gets rid of so much clutter. It's a great display. It's worth the money.
Dead Pixels March 30, 2010 Mad Coder 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
There is a cluster of 10+ dead pixels in the upper left corner. They are white when powered off, black when in use.
I'm not a graphical artist, so it's really not worth the hassle of a return.
I wish it were bigger, but.... March 20, 2010 R. LaPedis (San Bruno, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a 30" Apple display at home and needed something for work to connect to my MacBook. I didn't need a huge monster at work so this fit the bill. On top of it being a great display, it charges my MacBook so I don't need to have a charger.
